F&O: Put writing at all immediate strikes shows Nifty may hold up  The Nifty50 index opened in the negative but managed to recover sharply from lower levels and headed towards the 10,750 level on Wednesday. It formed a Piercing Line pattern on the daily scale, as it recovered its losses of the last session by more than a half. It has been making lower lows from last four sessions and holds above the 10,750-10,777 zone can negate the same to extend its recent bounce towards 10,850 and then 10,929 levels.  Nifty has reclaimed its 50-day EMA while on the downside it has support at 10,650 and then 10,600 levels.  On the options front, maximum Put OI was at 10,000 followed by 10,500 and 10,700 levels, while maximum Call OI was at 11,000 followed by 10,900 level. Sensex, Nifty plunge as trade war fear escalates

Benchmark domestic indices opened sharply lower today with the Nifty 50 slipping below the 10,000 mark for the first time since Oct 12, 2017.  Indices fell mirroring a selloff in Asian and US equities on fears that a trade war could throttle global growth after US President Donald Trump signed a memorandum that targets tariffs on imports worth up to $60bn from China. Reports that China has retaliated to Trump's decision further weighed on sentiment. Asian share indices were mostly down in early trade today, tracking the negative overnight movement in US and European equities. Equity markets in the US and Europe fell as risk-appetite took a hit due to the likelihood of heightened trade protectionism under President Donald Trump's regime. Investors also assessed German Chancellor Angela Merkel's comments indicating that she was pessimistic over the European Union's ability to negotiate an exemption from these tariffs. Indices extend fall; Nifty below 10,250 mark

Benchmark indices extended losses and were dragged by weakness in metal, oil and gas, FMCG, auto and financial services stocks. The market fell further amid political upheaval after the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) formally decided to quit the NDA government. At 2:18 PM, the  BSE  Sensex was trading at 33,285, down 400 points, while the  Nifty50  was ruling at 10,231, down 129 points. In the broader market, the BSE Midcap and the BSE Smallcap indices inched lower by 0.45% and 0.28%, respectively. Dr Reddy's Laboratories  stock is trading marginally down. The pharma company has launched Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride tablets, USP 5mg, an over-the-counter therapeutic equivalent generic version of Xyzal Allergy 24HR tablets in the United States market. Nifty hovers around 10,250 mark; Tata Steel, RCom down

Equity indices made a positive start to the session, mirroring the trend in global markets, and led by gains in shares of metal, financial services and information technology companies. At 12:20 PM, the  BSE  Sensex was trading at 33,473, up 121 points, while the  Nifty50  index was trading at 10,279, up 36 points. The BSE MidCap Index gained 0.15% and the BSE SmallCap Index gained 0.26%. Shares of  Sadbhav Infrastructure Projects  added 1.3% after National Highways Authority of India awarded contract for four laning of Tumkur-Shivamogga section on NH-206. The bid price of the contract is Rs933.82cr. Shree Renuka Sugars  is trading flat after the company signed an agreement with banks for debt restructuring. Nifty slips below 10,600 mark; PNB slumps over 8%

Equity indices had opened higher, gaining strength from continued rebound in global equities, amid broad-based gains led by automobile, fast moving consumer goods and information technology companies. However, key indices erased opening gains due to the downtrend in PSU Bank, metal, media, realty and financial services. At 10:59 AM, the  BSE  Sensex was trading at 34,410, down 36 points, while the  Nifty50  index was trading at 10,573, down 10 points. The BSE Midcap Index gained 0.15% and the BSE Smallcap Index rose 0.08%. Shares of  Punjab National Bank  extended losses and fell 7% after the bank said the quantum of fraudulent transactions in the Nirav Modi scam case may increase by another $204.2mn. Market slips at open, recovers from day's low

After opening with a gap down, markets have erased early losses and have recovered from day’s low. The Nifty IT index is the only gainer among the sectoral indices, while the Nifty Auto and Realty index are the top losers. Support for Nifty remains around the 10,275-10,300 zone. The India Vix has declined by 1%. Following the opening bell, indices were dragged down by losses in the shares of public sector banks and energy companies. The Nifty PSU index slumped 1.3% today. At 9:20 AM, the Nifty 50 was at 10,360 points, down 37.55 points or 0.4%. BSE-Sensex was at 33,745 points, down 100.75 points or 0.3%. Equity indices made a positive start to the session, taking positive cues from Asian markets. The gains were led by IT companies, RIL, HDFC, ICICI. At 9:44 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 33,758, up 54 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 10,369, up 9 points. Benchmark indices opened marginally higher on Tuesday. Today’s gains were led by Infosys, TCS, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Bharti Airtel. At 9:39 AM, the  BSE  Sensex was trading at 33,876, up 101 points, while the  Nifty50  was ruling at 10,404, up 26 points. In the broader market, the BSE Midcap and the BSE Smallcap indices gained 0.29% and 0.34% respectively. Nifty PSU Bank  was the leading loser among NSE indices and shed over 0.5%.  PNB  (down 2.7%%), Allahabad Bank (down 2.2%) and Union Bank (down 2%) contributed most to the losses. RK Damani, promoter of D-mart, has bought 26.5 lakh shares of  Fortis Healthcare  at Rs144.35 per share through his company Derive  Investment s. This translates in 0.5% stake in the company. Sensex rallies over 150 points ahead of Union Budget; L&T, Escorts up

The market has started on a positive note, with the Sensex gaining over 100 points ahead of  Budget 2018 .  Equity benchmark indices climbed along with most of the Asian peers after the Federal Reserve left key policy rates unchanged. At 9:55 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 36,146, up 181 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 11,071, up 43 points. Shares of  Larsen and Toubro  gained 3% after the company reported a 48.41% jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs1,618cr for the third quarter ended December 31, 2017. Equity benchmark indices remained volatile in morning session, after hitting a record high. At 11:02 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 34,420, down 24 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 10,624, down 12 points. Eris Lifesciences IPO was subscribed by 9% as of 1445 hours on its last day of subscription. The total issue size of 1,59,48,750 shares received 13,81,176 total bids and 5,75,424 bids at cut-off price. The company’s existing shareholders will sell 28,875,000 equity shares. Private equity giant ChrysCapital’s investment arm Botticelli would sell its entire 16.25% stake or 22,344,000 shares, in Eris Lifesciences. The company reported a constant rise in its revenue over the past five years. Its net revenue from operations for the year ended March 31, 2016, stood at around Rs 623.2 crore, witnessing a rise of around 11% on Y-o-Y basis. Sensex Flat, Nifty Struggles Around 9,600; Pharma Shares Gain.

The Nifty Pharma sub-index of NSE was up 2.65 per cent. The pharma sub-index fell 8 per cent in May compared to 3.3 per cent gain in the broader Nifty.Indian shares opened slightly lower on Thursday after the March quarter gross domestic product (GDP) growth came in lower than expectation at 6.1 per cent. The Sensex fell nearly 70 per cent while the Nifty shed as much as 20 points to fall below the 9,600 mark briefly. Hindalco Industries fell nearly 2 per cent extending Wednesday's losses. It was the top loser in Nifty. Indiabulls Housing Finance, which rose over 4 per cent yesterday, witnessed some profit booking and shed 1.8 per cent. Sharda Motor hits the roof post strong Q4 earnings

Sharda Motor Industries on Tuesday posted 131.79% rise in net profit to Rs 19.47 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2017. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 8.40 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. The board of directors at its meeting held on May 30, 2017, has recommended a final dividend of Rs 6.25 per equity share for the financial year 2016-17. Sharda Motor Industries on Wednesday was locked in 20% upper circuit at Rs 2,144.90 per share. The stock witnessed a spurt in the volume by more than 20.44 times. The Sensex was trading on a flat note while the broader Nifty was holding its important 9,600 level in morning deals as heavyweights like ITC, Infosys, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries and Tata Motors came under selling pressure on account of profit booking after the Sensex closed at its fresh record high in the previous session. The broader markets were outperforming the benchmark indices with the BSE mid-cap index rising nearly 1 per cent and small-cap index jumping close to 0.5 per cent.
