F&O: Put writing at all immediate strikes shows Nifty may hold up  The Nifty50 index opened in the negative but managed to recover sharply from lower levels and headed towards the 10,750 level on Wednesday. It formed a Piercing Line pattern on the daily scale, as it recovered its losses of the last session by more than a half. It has been making lower lows from last four sessions and holds above the 10,750-10,777 zone can negate the same to extend its recent bounce towards 10,850 and then 10,929 levels.  Nifty has reclaimed its 50-day EMA while on the downside it has support at 10,650 and then 10,600 levels.  On the options front, maximum Put OI was at 10,000 followed by 10,500 and 10,700 levels, while maximum Call OI was at 11,000 followed by 10,900 level. Domestic automobiles soar 25% yoy in June 2018 as low base steers growth

Domestic vehicle volumes surged 25% yoy in June 2018 as each category of vehicles reported strong growth in excess of 22% yoy. 3Ws led the charge with 56% yoy growth followed by CVs at 42% yoy. CVs benefited from an uptick in infrastructure and consumption related growth. Two wheeler sales were up 22% yoy as rural demand remained strong on the back of two successive monsoons. The passenger vehicles segment saw volume growth of 38% yoy with UVs leading the way with 47% yoy growth. Sensex, Nifty extend loss; Pharma stocks lead

Nifty has further lost ground and is trading near the day's low in the afternoon trade, ahead of the ECB policy decision due later in the day. All sectoral indices are trading in the red barring Pharma that gained over 1%. On the economy front, WPI inflation for the month of May increased to 14-month high of 4.43% from 3.18% in previous month. At 1:01 PM, BSE Sensex was at 35,533, down 206 points, while NSE Nifty was at 10,788, down 69 points. The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.41% at 16,011, while BSE Small-cap Index is trading down 0.16% at 17,001. Sun Pharma (+2.20%), HCL Technologies (+1.29%), Lupin (+1.14%), Grasim (+1.04%) and Cipla (+0.97%) were the top gainers on NSE. Tech Mahindra (-3.12%), Adani Ports (-2.09%), GAIL (-2.00%), State Bank of India (-1.93%) and IOC (-1.91%) were the top losers on NSE. Sensex down over 150 points; Eveready Industries stocks fall

Equity benchmark indices extended previous day's losses with the Sensex falling more than 100 points following correction in global peers on political turmoil in Italy. Banking, auto, metal and financials stocks dragged the indices lower. At 11:27 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 34,722, down by 177 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,573, down 60 points. BSE Midcap was up by 0.08%, while BSE Smallcap indices was down 0.04%. Shares of IOC, HPCL and BPCL fell in the range of 1-2% after cut in fuel prices. Shares of Manpasand Beverages hit 10% lower circuit. The stock has been falling for the last three sessions and has plunged as much as 42% after it informed the stock exchanges that its auditor — Deloitte Haskins & Sells resigned just four days before the board was to approve its quarterly results. The Nifty50 lost further ground and is heading straight towards the 10,500 psychological mark. Its immediate support is also seen around the 10,475 its 100-DEMA. Bank Nifty, on the other hand, has broken below its 21-DEMA indicating weakness. Immediate support is now seen at its 50-DEMA of 25,460 levels. At 1:40 PM, the Sensex was trading at 34,710, down 128 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 10,535, down 61 points. All sectoral indices are in the red, barring IT and PSU Bank. Shares of Ashok Leyland declined as much as 8% on Monday after the company reported lower-than-expected numbers for Q4FY18. The company's standalone net profit in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2017-2018 declined 18% yoy to Rs661cr. Benchmark indices pared its opening gains within minutes on Monday as investors reacted to power change in Karnataka after Bhartiya Janta Party failed to win confidence vote in the Parliament. A positive trend in global markets, however, capped the losses. Century Textiles & Industries (CTIL) stock fell 6% after the company announced to demerge its cement business (13.4MTPA) and merge it with UltraTech, as the company looks at debt reduction and focus more on its real estate business. CTIL aims at unlocking the value of cement business for the shareholders and deleveraging of the balance sheet. At 11:32 AM, the Sensex was trading at 34,735, down 113 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 10,552, down 44 points. Nifty ends above 10600 for the first time since February 05, 2018

Markets continued to remain on a hot streak, ending above the important resistance level of 10600 for the first time since February 05, 2018. Reliance Industries was the biggest outperformer, closing marginally below its life-time high levels, gaining ~3.75% in the trade. Financial stocks remained under selling pressure for the third day in a row with PSU Bank index ending ~1% lower. Nifty IT index saw profit booking, closing ~2% lower. Market breadth ended in the favour of the declines with Advance/Decline ratio closing at 3:4x. Tracking the derivative data points, Nifty and Bank Nifty futures in combination of April, May & June added open interest to the tune of ~14.3 lakh shares and ~3.75 thousand shares, hinting a buildup of long positions. Benchmark indices extended gains amid global clues and macro data, as investors await Infosys Q4 earnings due later in the day. At 12:50 PM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 34,286, up 185 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,505, up 46  points. The BSE Midcap and the BSE Smallcap indices were up by 0.67% and 0.73%, respectively. On the economy front, retail inflation rose 4.28% in March vs 4.4% in February. At 9:53 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 34,218, up 118 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,489, up 30 points. Benchmark indices extended early gains after it opened on a positive note, with banking stocks emerging among top gainers. At 11:22 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 33,762, up 134 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,379, up 47 points. The BSE Midcap and the BSE Smallcap indices was down by 0.13% and 0.04%, respectively. Lemon Tree Hotels scrip got listed at Rs61.60 on the BSE, a 10% premium over the issue price of Rs56.
