Sensex up 150 points; Yes Bank, Sun Pharma top losers
Domestic stock indices were off their highs as underlying sentiment remains weak and due to losses in shares of metals and public sector banks.
Lupin stock is marginally up by 0.30% after the company entered into an agreement with CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune and Department of Science and Technology, Delhi for researching a continuous purification process development of a biosimilar monoclonal antibody therapeutic.
Sugar stocks fell after Indian Sugar Mills Association said yesterday that the country’s output of the sweetener might climb to a record this year. Shree Renuka down 1%.
Cadila Healthcare added 1% after it has entered into a partnership with Medicure to launch cholesterol drug in the US market.
At 12:33 PM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 33,187, up 154 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,201, up 46 points.
The BSE Midcap Index slipped 0.13% and the BSE Smallcap Index down 0.45%.
Volatility index India VIX slipped 2.02% to 15.3825.
Bharti Infratel (+1.8%), Indiabulls HF (+1.6%), ICICI Bank (+1.6%), M&M (+1.6%) and Airtel (+1.5%) were the top gainers on Nifty50.
Yes Bank (-4%), Sun Pharma (-2.4%), Tata Motors (-1.2%), Coal India (-1.2%) and Hindalco (-1%) were the top losers in today’s trade.
Out of 2,014 stocks traded on the NSE, 468 advanced, 1,193 declined and 353 remained unchanged today.
A total of nine stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 189 stocks touched a new 52-week low.
