Market at day's high; Sensex jumps over 250 points
After last week’s volatile market, today the benchmark indices have bounced back taking Nifty above 10,500 mark. Realty, Pharma and Metal sectors are rallying and have gained the most.
On BSE Sensex, SpiceJet is the volume topper with a TTQ of 2,912,090 followed by Strides Shasun, HEG and Fortis Healthcare.
All sectoral indices on Nifty are up except IT sector facing a trivial fall of 0.3%.
At 2:26 PM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 34,266, up 260 points, while the Nifty50 index was trading at 10,533, up 78 points.
Marksans Pharma stock gained 4% after the company's consolidated profit in Q3 increased by 51.5% yoy to Rs17.4cr from Rs11.5cr.
Zuari Agro stock soared 9% as profit grew sharply to Rs48cr in Q3, from Rs4.3cr on yoy basis.
The BSE MidCap Index gained 1.4% and the BSE SmallCap Index gained 1.8%.
Volatility index India VIX slipped 3.8% at 18.4975.
Tata Steel (+4%), Aurobindo Pharma (+3%), Yes Bank (+2.9%), ONGC (+2.5%) and Lupin(+2%) were the top gainers on Nifty50.
State Bank of India (-2.2%), BPCL (-2.2%), HCL Technologies (-2.1%), Hindustan Petroleum (-1.3%) and Bharti Infratel (-1%) were the top losers in today’s trade.
A total of 29 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while 11 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
