Nifty hovers around 10,600 mark; South Indian Bank stock down 2.5%

he BSE Sensex was trading at 34,427, up 75 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 10,629, up 6 points.
Shares of South Indian Bank down 2% after the bank posted its Q3 results, net profit was in-line with estimates, up 3% yoy to Rs115cr against Rs111cr.
IFCI has sold its 0.2% stake in the National Stock Exchange at Rs925.10. Stock down 1%.
Shares of SREI Infrastructure Finance rose nearly 5% following reports that the company, along with JSW Infrastructure, is set to acquire the upcoming Sterling Port in Dahej.
Shares of Astron Paper & Board Mills hit their 5% upper circuit for the seventh consecutive session since listing. The stock has so far gained 47%.
Capital goods stocks were mixed. Suzlon Energy (+4.15%), Thermax (+1.53%), Siemens (+1.12%), ABB India (+0.39%) and Bharat Electronics (+0.05%) edged higher. Bhel (-1.46%), Havells India (-1.29%), Praj Industries (-1.05%) and BEML (- 0.46%) edged lower.
L&T was marginally lower by 0.5%. The company said it has successfully commissioned and handed over the state-of-the-art 360 MW Bheramara combined cycle power plant development project to North West Power Generation Company, a fully owned subsidiary of Bangladesh Power Development Board.
The BSE Mid-cap and BSE Small-cap indices were down 0.55% and 0.14% respectively.
Volatility index India VIX gained 2.05%.
Coal India (+6%), Ambuja (+1.6%), ITC (+1.4%), RIL (+1.2%) and Tata Motors (+1.1%) were the top gainers on Nifty50.
Eicher (-2.2%), Zee (-1.6%), Hindalco (-1.4%), HPCL (-1.3%) and Vedanta (-1.1%) were the top losers in today’s trade.
Out of 2,008 stocks traded on the NSE, 715 advanced, 989 declined and 304 remained unchanged today.
A total of 146 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trade today, while five stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
