Nifty settles above 10,300 mark

Benchmark indices closed higher on Monday for the third consecutive session in a row led by ITC, HDFC, TCS and State Bank of India.

At 3:40 PM, the Sensex closed higher by 205 points or 0.62% at 33,456, while the Nifty50 gained 57 points or 0.55% to 10,322.

UltraTech Cement share price rose 1.5% after the company announced greenfield expansion at Rajasthan.

Aurobindo Pharma (+2.7%), TCS (+2.6%), UPL (+2.5%), M&M (+2.1%) and Lupin (+2%) were the top gainers on the Nifty50.

Infratel (-1.5%), NTPC (-1.5%), Asian Paints (-0.70%), Yes Bank (-0.58%) and ONGC (-0.55%)  were the top losers.

India VIX dropped 3.47%.

Out of 2,002 stocks traded on the NSE, 877 advanced, 824 declined and 301 remained unchanged today.

A total of 112 stocks registered a 52-week high, while 21 stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
