Gujarat State Fertilisers tanks as plant shuts

Gujarat State Fertilisers stock tanked 0.08% at Rs 124.35 per share on BSE post lunch hours.

The company on Monday has announced that it has shut down its ammonia-IV plant on July 6, 2017 due to detection of leakage of high-pressure process gas from hot header of reformer box.

Urea-II plant was also shutdown due to non-availability of CO2 gas which is by-product of ammonia-IV plant. All other plants of GSFC are operational with a supply of ammonia from ammonia storage tanks.

Meanwhile, the stock has attracted a traded volume of 9,20,346 shares and a traded value of Rs 1,140.86 lakh on NSE.

As per market observers, the company has been maintaining a dividend payout of 22.73%.

Stock view:

Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd is currently trading at Rs 123, down by Rs 1.45 or 1.17% from its previous closing of Rs 124.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 125.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs 125.45 and Rs 122.65 respectively. So far 1293812(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 4959.05 crore.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 148.4 on 10-May-2017 and a 52 week low of Rs 67 on 03-Aug-2016. Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 127.4 and Rs 121.15 respectively.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.84 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.72 % and 29.44 % respectively.

The stock is currently trading below its 50 DMA.
