TCS, Infy, HDFC, Tata Motors contribute most to gains of Nifty and Sensex

Nifty and Sensex opened at a record high. Nifty opened higher by 29 points at 9704 level and Sensex opened at 31420 higher by 111 points.

However, within few minutes of opening on Tuesday, Nifty pared its lifetime gains started trading absolutely flat at 9676 level.

TCS was the top Nifty and Sensex gainer. It was trading higher by over 3% at Rs 2692.3 per share on BSE as of 0920 hours.

Infosys, HDFC, Tata Motors and Sun Pharma are also contributing to the gains of Nifty and Sensex. Tata Elxsi was also trading higher by 2.8% at Rs 1534.6 per share extending its Monday’s gain.

ITC, ONGC, Indiabulls Housing Finance are among the top Nifty losers restricting Nifty’s upward rally. ITC was trading down by 1.23% at Rs 313.55 per share.

On the sectoral front, BSE Energy index, BSE FMCG index, BSE Oil and Gas, BSE Consumer Durables index are trading in negative territory.

F&O: Put writing at all immediate strikes shows Nifty may hold up  The Nifty50 index opened in the negative but managed to recover sharply from lower levels and headed towards the 10,750 level on Wednesday. It formed a Piercing Line pattern on the daily scale, as it recovered its losses of the last session by more than a half. It has been making lower lows from last four sessions and holds above the 10,750-10,777 zone can negate the same to extend its recent bounce towards 10,850 and then 10,929 levels.  Nifty has reclaimed its 50-day EMA while on the downside it has support at 10,650 and then 10,600 levels.  On the options front, maximum Put OI was at 10,000 followed by 10,500 and 10,700 levels, while maximum Call OI was at 11,000 followed by 10,900 level.
