LT is the top Nifty gainer and HCL Tech is the top Nifty loser in the opening hours.

There are 627 advances, 755 declines and 513 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting a negative bias floating in the market.

Nifty50 index now has immediate support placed around level of 9,620 and if it slips below this level it may extend its down-move up to levels of 9,580-9,550. On the flipside resistance for the index is placed around level of 9,685 and if it holds above this level it may extend up-move towards level of 9,710.

The rupee opened at 64.63 per US dollar depreciated by 13 paise. On Tuesday, the Indian rupee closed weaker at 64.50 against the US dollar tracking losses in its Asian peers.

US stocks ended lower on Tuesday as investors dumped energy shares after crude-oil prices edge lower. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index slid 51 points to 6,188. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 62 points at 21,467. The S&P 500 dropped 16 points to finish at 2,437.

Most of the Asian stocks are trading in negative terrain in early trade on Wednesday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 has slipped 52 points; Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has shed 33 points, while China’s Shanghai Composite has gained 11 points.
