Infosys, TCS drags the IT index in red

The BSE Information Technology is the top losing index in the morning session on BSE. It was trading down by 1.4% at 10034. Infosys and TCS together were contributing to the index losses and dragging it to lower levels.

Infosys was trading lower by 2.6% at Rs 930.55 per share at 09:24 hours IST. TCS was down by 0.8% at Rs 2,501 per share.

Other IT stocks such as Persistent Systems was down 2% at Rs 623 per share, Tech Mahindra down by 1.5% at Rs 391 per share, Wipro down 1.2% at Rs 538.70 per share, Cyient was trading lower by 1.1% at Rs 520.75 per share, Tata Elxsi was down 0.6% at Rs 1512.90 per share and Subex was also trading lower by 0.5% at Rs 9.84 per share.

Lycos Internet, Smartlink Network Systems, Trigyn Technologies and Datamatics are some stocks on the index that are trading in green.

The co-founders of IT giant Infosys are exploring an option to sell their 12.75% stake which amounts to Rs 28,000 crore, reported a national news agency.
