Asian market indices decline following MSCI’s decision

MSCI, American provider of equity, fixed income, hedge fund stock market indexes, and equity portfolio analysis tools; has recently announced its decision to add mainland China's shares to its global benchmark equity shares.

MSCI is going to add 222 shares from mainland Chinese stocks, known as A-shares in its flagship emerging market index in a phased manner beginning next year. Asian market indices were trading lower in the morning hours on Wednesday. Japanese Nikkei 225 index was down by 46 points, Hang Seng was down by 144 points, Korean KOSPI was down by 15 points and SGX Nifty was trading lower by 33 points.

The inflow of capital from foreign institutional investor's to China may witness a boost and the other emerging markets may witness a shift of FII inflow to Chinese stocks following the MSCI decision. Asian markets were trading lower in Wednesday’ trading session on the back of MSCI decision.
