Ashok Leyland slips after posting poor monthly sales data
Ashok Leyland on Thursday was down by 3.1% at Rs 91.55 per share at 14:08 hours IST on BSE. It hit a high of Rs 94.80 and a low of Rs 90.10 so far during the day.
The company on Thursday informed that its total sales declined 8% to 9071 units in May 2017 as against 9875 units in May 2016.
The M&HCV segment sales dropped 18% to 6139 in May 2017 units as against 7469 units in May 2016. On the contrary, the LCV segment sales increased 22% to 2932 units, as against 2406 units in May 2016.
The market capitalisation of the company is Rs 26,025.54 crore. Its peers include Tata Motors and BEML.
Ashok Leyland Limited is engaged in commercial vehicles and related components.
