Opening Bell – Sensex opens flat, Nifty opens above 9500

At 9:15 am the BSE Sensex opened at 30765 up by 15 points, while the Nifty50 opened down by 2 points at 9507 mark.

Asian Paints is the top Nifty gainer and Cipla is the top Nifty loser in the morning hours. Asian Paints is trading at Rs 1140 per share up by 2.41% whereas Cipla is trading at Rs 486.45 per share, down by 3.48%.

There are 889 advances, 494 declines and 496 unchanged stocks on NSE reflecting some positive bias floating in the market.

The rupee opened at 64.56 per US dollar higher by 6 paise on Friday. On Thursday, the rupee closed at 64.62 per US dollar.

Nifty50 index has formed a long bullish candle. Now, going forward, Nifty50 needs to sustain above the level of 9,540 to witness any up move towards the level of 9,610. On the downside, the support for Nifty50 is pegged at the levels of 9,450 and 9,400.

The US stocks advanced for a sixth straight session on Thursday. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed at fresh records. The S&P 500 index rose 11 points to finish at 2,415. The Nasdaq Composite index advanced 42 points to end at 6,205. The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 71 points to close at 21,083.

Asian markets are trading with mixed sentiments on Friday. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng has risen 15 points, Japan’s Nikkei 225 has shed 68 points and China’s Shanghai has gained 1 point.
